?Thank you very much Congressman Fabian for making our dream come true!?
These were the words of the faculty and students of the Talon-Talon National High School manifested in placards as one way of expressing their gratitude to the congressman during yesterday?s formal proclamation rite for their newly-legislated high school.
Hundreds of students, all wearing smiles, happily stood on the school grounds chanting the famous jingle ?Taki Ya, Taki ya? as the congressman and party arrived at 10 a.m. for the program.Fabian authored the bill that was recently signed by President Arroyo into law institutionalizing the Talon-Talon National High School.According to Arlindera Ramirez, school principal, the upgrading of their school into an institutionalized high school, is the best gift they received from Fabian, which they will always honor and remember.?In behalf of the faculty, parents, and students of this school, we want to express our deepest gratitude and we would always be grateful to you Rep. Fabian for performing your best in ensuring that the dream of Talon-Talon National High School of becoming a legislated high school is finally realized,? Ramirez stressed during her opening remarks. She added that the school will benefit much as a legislated high school since it will have its own budget allocation and more plantilla teaching items every school year.Ramirez said the upgrading of the school into a legislated high school is also very timely considering the increasing number of enrollees every year since the school caters to students not only coming from Talon-Talon but also from nearby big barangays like Tugbungan, Sta. Catalina and Kasanyangan. In his message, Fabian said the TTNHS has become a legislated high school by way of Republic Act 9605 that was signed by Arroyo.?Ever since, helping further uplift the quality of education in all public elementary and secondary schools has always been among my top priorities. As your congressman, I want to make sure that our government schools will always be provided with needed assistance and support in terms of logistics and infrastructures,? Fabian emphasized. The congressman also hailed the teachers for their perseverance and dedication in helping mould the students as responsible and productive citizens in the near future. He also turned over a brand new and modern sound system to the school for its programs and activities. Other personalities present during the program were DepEd officials led by Norma Vecina, and barangay officials led by First Kagawad Roderick Marcelino.? Jemuel E. Mojica
