Bell church for Guiwan Parish

22 Oct

I incidentally met Fr. Toto Soliva the other evening through Councilor Gerky Valesco, and in passing, Gerky mentioned to me that Fr. Toto, who is presently the parish priest of , is in need of a church bell in his parish. I promise them that I will mention this in my column, so may I have this privilege to call the attention of good, kind hearted parishioners of our beloved city to please heed the call for help of Fr. Toto, so that his church will have a bell! In a jokingly manner, our energetic Councilor Gerky said Fr. Toto might just use a micropgone to call his parishioners to attend mass. Teehee. This church bell may cost thousands of pesos, but if people will be donating for this cause, the Church, which was just recently reconstructed, will be able to realize their dream of owning their own church bell.Fellow columnist Diday Saavedra and yours truly attended the Let’s Party of Cong. Erbie and Dinggay last Oct. 11 at Astoria Regency. The guests enjoyed the evening listening to Retro Music, with Zamboangueños like Drigo Balbon and Bob Jaldon rendering songs and no less than Dist 2 Congressman Erbie himself singing, all accompanied by a band. It was one evening of fun and dancing. The amiable Rep. Cynthia Villar flew over from to be with the community that evening.I would like to greet Marilu Eustaquio, Louie and Tessie Alano, who live in Isabela, Basilan from time to time, come to our Latin City to unwind, a very resounding Hello! I haven’t seen them for a long time since our tennis days. Ed and Marilu own a hospital in Isabela, and I felt sad when Marilu informed me Ed had already died…Society columnist Mila Arieta joined us later! Our heartfelt condolence to Mayor Celso and family on the passing away of Ditos Balaguer!I admired Ditos for being such a nice person and will be a great loss to relatives and friends.
